COVID-19 Update May 27, 2020
In light of the most recent information released by the state, we are entering into a 21 day period with updated guidelines for how churches can function. Below are a few updates on how we will be proceeding at Doxa.
1) Doxa Students will be up and running in-person starting in June. Pastor Zak Graves will be in contact with students and parents on the specifics of how those will run and the health precautions that will be taken. We are so excited for our Students to get back together!
2) Small Groups have always been a primary means of discipleship and care at Doxa. In light of the state and Governor's most recent guidelines, we feel comfortable giving our small groups the freedom to start meeting again in person. Pastor Chris will contact small group leaders this week to provide more details and give guidance in what in-person meetings could look like.
3) At this point we are hoping and planning for Sunday services to resume in person after this next phase of restrictions is lifted, which could be as early as 21 days from yesterday (5/26/2020). We are working to put precautions and systems in place to be ready and able to open again when that time comes. Over the next 21 days, our primary outlet for services will continue to be online. We will continue to provide full-service videos released each weekend. However, we do want to provide one opportunity to gather in these next few weeks as outlined in section 4.
4) Because we can now gather in a group of 100, we are going to offer the opportunity for 100 of our people each week to sit in on the live filming of our Sunday service. We are looking forward to seeing you in person, and because we have the freedom to do so, we want to give you the opportunity to join us. Filming will take place on Thursday evenings. All will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer and face masks are welcome but not required. Social distancing protocols will also be in effect. Keep an eye out later this week for more details and how to sign up!
Church, we can't wait for the day that we can all gather together again, and we pray it comes soon. Please continue to pray for our staff and Elders as we navigate changing regulations. We hope to see you all in person soon! It is our joy to serve you.
