Doxa Church COVID-19 Update 3/17/2020
Doxa Church,
First, in light of continuing concerns regarding COVID-19, we have decided to do church in homes at least through the end of March. We intend to send out full video services on Sunday mornings, and they will be available online via our website, App, and social media. We are also working on ways to make those videos more accessible for our people to watch on TVs, including adding it to Youtube and releasing a Doxa Church TV App. Please stay tuned for updates on those avenues and join us as we continue to have church at home, glorifying God through worship and teaching.
Second, as you can imagine, not meeting for the rest of the month will have an impact on us financially. A church of our size relies on the sustained giving of our people who realize that generosity is an act of worship and obedience. We’re asking that you continue to be generous in the absence of gathering publicly by giving online or on the Doxa App. To learn about various ways to give and for specific instructions, visit our website here. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Third, due to the nationwide recommendation of no more than ten people meeting together, we are postponing or moving all events for the month of March online. Below is a breakdown of how each discipleship avenue will continue to function.
Small Groups : This is our primary avenue for care and support amongst one another. We encourage small groups to stay connected and would recommend checking out a video chat platform to use in the meantime, such as Zoom. Please be in contact with your small group leader for specific instructions.
Doxa Kids: We desire our kids to continue to dive into the gospel over the course of the next couple of weeks and as we know, kids thrive on structure and rhythms, so our goal is to help equip parents to continue the rhythm of their journey through Scripture. Parents will be receiving an email from Doxa Kids staff with instructions on accessing your kids curriculum to use as we continue to have church as families.
Doxa Students: Doxa Students is happening online each Wednesday 7pm-9pm. Students will individually watch the lesson on the Student Page at 7pm. As they finish they will hop onto a Zoom conference video for hangout, activities, and then Small Group time.
Prayer Night on March 24th: We will be streaming our March 24th Prayer and Worship night. We will gather as families to worship the Lord and seek His face as we pray for one another, our circumstances, and the welfare of our communities.
All Bible Studies and Classes are postponed until further notice as well as the March 22nd Baptisms and the April 4th “One Another” Women’s Event.
We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as much as possible in the weeks to come. We are developing plans for a process to meet needs within our church, so stay tuned for ways that you can be involved. In the meantime, stay in touch by checking in on our website for updates, following us on social media, and continuing to read the Doxa Weekly email. If you have any specific questions, let us know at info@doxachurch.net. Know that we are praying for all of you and for our community.
