Jesus and the strong man
Mark 5:1-20

Introduction:
1. Moral testimony-
2. 'I’ve always been a Christian' testimony-
3. Christ-exalting testimony-

BIG IDEA: 3 components to a Christ exalting testimony…

1. I was… (vv. 1-5)
1A. Life before Christ- v. 1-
v. 2- Satan is:
1. The Destoyer (Rev 9:11)-
2. The Deceiver (Rev 12:9)-
3. The Accuser (Rev 12:10)-
4. The Adversary (1 Pet 5:8)-
5. The Father of lies (John 8:44)-
6. The Tempter (1 Thess 3:5)-
7. The Murderer (John 8:44)-

Praise God- 1 John 3:8 The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

2. But Jesus… (vv. 6-13)

Col 2:13-15 ‘And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the ruler and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.'

Those whom Satan seeks to destroy, God seeks to transform.

3. By the grace of God, now I’m… (vv. 14-20)
1A. A trophy of God’s grace- (vv. 14-15)-
2A. Your mission field (vv. 16-17)-
3A. A testifier of God’s mercy (vv. 18-19)- Mercy mobilizes mission.
4A. Your mission (v. 20)- When Jesus sets you free, he doesn’t want you to keep it to yourself.

Who do you need to go home and tell?
