Galatians

The Gospel: the good news that the holy God of the universe has looked upon our helpless state as sinful men and women and in great love, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, to bear his wrath against sin on the cross and to show his power over sin in the resurrection, so that everyone who turns from their sin and works and trusts in Jesus as Savior and Lord will be forgiven of sin and reconciled to God forever. 

My concern: familiarity with the gospel doesn’t equal proficiency. We won’t be effective in taking the gospel out if we don’t get it in. 

Galatians overview 

     -Paul: author and church planter

     -Planted 4 churches in the southern Galatian cities of Pisidian Antioch (Acts 13:13-50), Iconium (Acts 13:51-14:7), Lystra (Acts 14:8-19), and Derbe (Acts 14:20-21). 

     - Acts 15:1 But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.
