At Doxa, we believe that disciples of Christ are called to walk with Him and alongside one another. That’s why we encourage everyone who calls Doxa home to join a Small Group—our primary environment for discipleship and community.
Doxa Small Groups typically gather three weeknights per month for about two hours in homes throughout Placer, Sacramento, and Yuba Counties. Each group centers around three core components:
- Gospel Fluency – growing in our ability to both proclaim and apply the gospel to all of life
- Encouragement in the Means of Grace – practicing spiritual disciplines such as intake of God’s word, prayer, and fellowship
- Living Out the “One Another” Commands – applying the 40+ relational commands found throughout the New Testament
Small Group gatherings usually reflect on the previous weekend’s sermon using discussion questions and prompts to connect biblical truth to everyday life. Meetings may also include singing, prayer, shared meals, local outreach, and equipping resources to help believers grow in ministry (Ephesians 4:12-16).
While Bible study is a meaningful part of our groups, small group meetings are not limited to that since our primary goal is to glorify God by making disciples. We long to see each member grow in maturity and Christlikeness. As we devote ourselves to the Word, fellowship, accountability, and prayer, we trust that—by God’s grace—disciples will be formed, leaders will be raised, and new groups will multiply as we pursue the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37–39).
